01 We are the pioneers in France

FARMERS OF THE SEA FOR 35 YEARS

For 35 years, we have been developing our own know-how, nourished by our passion and by our history of aquaculture in the open sea. Since the beginning, we wanted to work in a sustainable way, allowing nature to follow its course, to cultivate the best fish that the Mediterranean Sea has to offer. Our methods are unique, and they are the result of many experiments.

02 Our aquaculture in the open sea

A SMALL-SCALE BREEDING

We work by hand on human-sized farms. Changing nets, feeding the fish, and performing the maintenance of our structures in the sea, as well as fishing with our “salabre” nets, are all done manually. These methods guarantee a more accurate management of our farms, and brings us closer to the animals, which is beneficial to their development.

DEVELOPING SUSTAINABLE LIVESTOCK FARMING

Ever since our foundation, our farms combine the concepts of sustainability, traceability, and transparency, to preserve our working environment and the quality of our products. We want to build a world where the environmental impact of animal proteins productions is completely under control, and where marine aquaculture is perceived as an answer to the questioning on “better consumption”.

Based in the heart of the Bay of Cannes, Aquafrais is a brand of Mediterranean tradition: cooking, sailing, diving, the accent of the South of France, the knots of the sea, the Islands of Lérins, the huge tables and the big mouths. We are sailors, at heart and by culture, and thus we cultivate the sea.
